I'm trying to remember the title of a film I saw part of several
months ago.

I believe it was a German film, but it may have been Danish or
Swedish. It had English subtitles.

By the costumes and sets, it looks to have been made sometime between
the 90s and now.

I didn't see the beginning, but it was about a couple of gleefully
criminal types who invade a couple's lake house, tie them up and gag
them, and physically and psychologically torture them throughout, I
think, a 24-hour period. It seems the only motive was killing for the
invaders' own pleasure. At one point, before the couple is killed,
one of the invaders poses as a houseguest and borrows eggs (or other
breakfast food) from an unsuspecting and obliging neighbor. Also, the
invaders take the woman onto her boat and either dump her body into
the water or act as if they're going to but don't. (My memory is
fuzzy.)

I think one of the invaders was killed by one of the victims. It
seemed for a time as if at least one of the victims would escape, but
they're both killed.

It was on either HBO or the Independent Film Channel in the middle of
the night.

Can anyone identify this film? I'd like to rent it and see the entire
film.
