"The World's Fastest Indian" (New Zealand - 2005) Wow. This one slipped
under my (and I suspect
everyone else's) radar. As improbable as it sounds, this film is about
New Zealander Burt Munro
who cherished a dream of running his much modified 1920 Indian
motorcycle at Bonneville salt flats
during Speed Week. Written and directed by Roger Donaldson and starring
Anthony Hopkins (who is
in every frame), this is a very carefully, very beautifully done example
of pure film magic. I could
not look away for fear I would miss something. A major find and a major
keeper.
