About 10 years ago, I saw a very strange film. I think it was
considered very artsy and was called "Barocco", but I couldn't find
any occurence of it.
Among other, it contained the following features (at least these are
the once that I remember)
- No real plot, just scenes circling around the theme of the conquest
of south america
- Conquistatores slowly rowing up a river in a rain forest, observed
by hidden natives
- Some really nice cinematography
- The plague taking over Europe, symbolized by unwrapping huge black
cloths in a medieval city
- A female native in blue body paint doing some kind of an orgy
- Another female native confined naked to a rack, symbolizing the
repression of south america, I guess
- Not a lot of dialogue, maybe even none at all
- Classical music
I just remembered that I really hated this movie (it was also boring
to no end), but we had to sit through it. Could somebody please
refresh my memory and give me a trace to this film, like the real
title, director, year, whatever...
