One of my students at Peare, Nobeoka told me about a movie called Ikiru by
Akira Kurosawa. Forgive me if I make any mistakes here. I was told that it
is about a man that worked at City Hall. He had cancer. His one dream was to
build a park for children. He finally succeeded. In the last scene of the
movie, he was sitting on a swing in the park that he helped build. There was
a light snowfall. He silently passed away. I have to admit, I was touched by
the telling of this story. And, I appreciate it very much.
