I actually meant discourse not discord though that may be the
reason why many regular posters abandoned ship.

I think it noble to provide an alternate haven for silent film
discussion where boorish behavior is immediately shown the
door.

Actually, I don't believe that any legitimate posters have been shown the
door. But people shilling Viagra, porn, MP3 downloads, etc. are
immediately removed.

.......not to mention MI5 and the the small print poster
with the endless lists and absurd topics.

I ENJOY reading those "endless lists". Keep them coming. As for
"absurd topics", I prefer to take the advice of Silent Comedy
genius , Harold Lloyd. One of his comedy writers had many absurd ideas
but He also presented some great comedy ideas and thus it was all
worthwhile.

Ah, Harold The Great's idea of absurdity was climbing a building
as a stunt to impress a love interest, pulling a giant's tooth by
jumping from a great height, and hiding inside of a coat on a hook
from a squadron of cops.

The poster in question resorts to the type of absurd behavior
designed to provoke a hostile response.

Harold Lloyd was eccentric.

The poster in question's posts are
demented.

Ah yes, sadly it seems that the ole

You know that only half of that image is me...

Is that like the Mona Lisa being half Leonardo Da Vinci?

But seriously..

Well, I'm still here--it just seems like there hasn't been much to
chime in on lately. Is it possible that after all these years we've
actually exhausted the topic?

I really hope the upcoming Abel Gance films on TCM generate some interesting
discussion. I'm especially interested in finally getting to see "La Roue"
and can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts on it.
