Did someone offend you that was involved in the making of the Alamo or
something? What's with the personal vendetta against this pretty decent movie?
Who cares (besides Disney) that it's bombing? You're acting like a kid. Shut
up.

There is something that irritates me doubly about a crap movie made
from a great book or, in this case, a great legend.

Off the top of my head, I can think of The Razor's Edge, Genghis Khan,
The Scarlet Letter, Great Gatsby (twice at least), whatever that lousy
Joan of Arc movie was named, Bonfire of the Vanities.

Actually, it's about the best version to date--worth seeing for Thornton
alone,
apart from it's other virtues, at least one of which is the heavy Tejano
presence for a change--aside from the customary smoldering signoritas.

Agreed. It's not a "crap movie". Even most of the critics who've panned the

movie think The Alamo is a case of filmmakers fumbling difficult material, but
everyone has it in for Disney right now and people without even knowing
anything about what's in the movie don't seem to be in any mood for
"revisionism" or what they think is going to be revisionist (preferring instead
Mel Gibson cutting and pasting bits of the Gospels he likes and calling it
historically accurate). So a pretty good movie with a stellar performance from
Thornton is going to go down in history as a monumental flop.

I'm not just talking about this comment. He's posted a number of comments
gloating about how this movie bombed like it's some huge deal.
