Over $100 million worldwide. And it sold more than 2 million copies
the first day on DVD. For a $55 million dollar 2 film saga, it's a
darn good start.

And the second movie has a lot less blood and violence. But is just as
much a masterful piece of filmmaking.

It was around 170 to 190 worldwide. It made plenty and it cost 55 million.
No matter what 2 does this weekend it is gravy. Judging by the big downtown
theater here it will do well this weekend.

At today's 2:30 matinee, the theatre was 3/4 full - which is pretty good
for an R rated film. I think that this film is going to be tops at box
office this weekend at least. I think that the release of the DVD this
week was good promotion, because a lot of people who did not see Vol. 1
in the theaters saw the flick for the first time this week (i understand
that the DVD was a big seller).

You just ripped off Morehits' thong undies. Thanks, John. Please be of
service to this group again whenever Morehits launches his usual
"flop....flop....flop" chant.

$172.1 million worldwide for the first film. And then we start talking
DVD. Yes, this made a lot of money for Miramax, especially when you
consider Miramax got two films out of the paltry $55 million budget.
So even if V2 doesn't make a dime they still have made a profit.

Don't kid yourself.. V2 is not a masterful piece of filmmaking. Most
of it is moments of sheer boredom with some decent stuff here and
there. Don't get in the cycle of believing everything from Tarantino
should be holy writ.

He is not getting in any cycle. He loved the movie, you didn't. What's
boring to one person isn't to someone else.

Volume 2 did almost 11 million on Friday so it looks like it will be No.1
and have a better opening weekend than Volume 1.
