For anyone who might have a Pathe Webo DS8 camera with a "broken" reflex
viewer, I have learned of an exciting new service which might interest
you. Andrew Hayden in the U.K. has had new pellicles made to replace
the old ones which are often broken in these cameras. These are
absolutely brand new products made from new glass with new coatings;
they are not "new old stock". He informs me that the new pellicle
offers about a 30% increase in viewfinder brightness while requiring
only about a 1/3-1/2 stop increase in exposure. His charge for
replacing the pellicle is £50 which does not include return postage. At
current exchange rates, that is about $80US which is certainly a bargain
for such delicate work.
