Era: 1970s.
My memory on plot details is vague. There's a house on the countryside that is
suddenly under attack by enemy soldiers, possibly Nazis. They use flamethrowers
and other weapons to wipe out the family living there. The father escapes into
the house, where he utilizes several hiding places built into their home. He
emerges periodically to kill each and every one of the soldiers who killed his
family. One of the better "hunter becomes the hunted" type films, in the vein
of "Hang 'em High," "Playing Dangerous" and "Home Alone."
I'm pretty sure this was a foreign film. Most likely dubbed or subtitled. It
was definitely available on videotape, because I owned a copy years ago.
