Good mac based recorder that generates TOD TC?...

I'm looking for a software solution like MetaCorder that can generate
time code. Gallery's Ambient TC solution doesn't appear to have
materialized since it was introduced in 2004, or at least the webpage
hasn't been updated. Any ideas for an all in one solution rather than
adding an external TC generator?

The Metacorder/Ambient thing never materialized--not released. Too
bad.
If you are using a firewire interface box like MOTU or RME etc they
can generate
TC within themselves (with varying degrees of accuracy). ProTools LE
w/ DVTK
can generate MTC.

The Ambient ACC-501 has timecode on the USB port. See page 2 of the
user guide. I have used this setup with BoomRecorder (note: on OSX10.6
there is a issue with the built in sound report not working but all
other functions remain the same) Make sure to install the mac drivers
which are listed in the user guide of the ACC-501

Well, i don't have made a recorder (yet), but i do have made a LTC
generator.
Download a fully functional (although time limited) demo here:
http://www.videotoolshed.com/?page=products&pID=45

I could make it so that it watches recording software and converts a
finished recorded .wav file into a BWF file.
But i have no idea what software for Mac is out there that does WAVE
recording.

I've toyed around with Audio Hijack Pro (for transcribing purposes
with a custom software LTC reader), but it seems not be able to record
to WAVE.
Now it is no problem to convert the AIFF (luckily it does do 24 bits)
to WAVE, but perhaps some of you can come up with better suggestions.

I'm quite interested on feedback on the LTC generator, as well as
feature requests what it should do more.
You can mail me direct if you like (bouke at videotoolshed dot com)
(And yes, it will be very reasonably priced :-)

not hard to imagine an iphone app that generates TC at the phone's
audio output.. would be darn useful for those of us w 552s, zfr100s,
tx900s, and other compact recorders w timecode inputs but no manual
'TC-setting' controls.. if for no other purpose than to get code
started at a desired hour or TOD.

then again, i heard there's a set of rods and lens adapters for iphone
already though so maybe we'll just jam from an iphone soon enough
anyway, the way things are headed. Wink

Look. I think that's a long way off myself. There is nothing even in the
plans to be able to mount Panavisions lenses on an iPhone. It's only Arri
lenses at this time which will put many DPs off.

I have already made this, although with a different idea in mind:

Not really a Iphone app, but you can make a couple of files at home
and bring them on your Iphone.
(Or, have 24 hours of TC handy)
