Just bought a mini USB keyboard to use with a 744t. I know the
keyboard interfaces with the CL-1 but I'm wondering if the CL-1 can be
bypassed using a USB to cat5 adaptor to connect the keyboard. |

Don't try this. And the CL-1 does NOT interface to a USB keyboard. You need
a PS-2 type keyboard, not a USB.

Certain USB keyboards will work with the CL-1 with a PS2 to USB
adapter; Certain USB keyboards, but not all of them. There is no way
to interface any keyboard to the 2 and 4 track 7-series without the
use of a CL-1.

I use a USB (1) "Virtually Indestructible Keyboard" w/ a 702T w a USB
to PS2 adapter AND
the CL1. Works well. But only w/ the CL1.
