The SF Film Society is currently accepting letters of interest for two
screenwriting awards and a filmmaking grant.
The San Francisco Film Society and the Djerassi Resident Artists
Program present
The Djerassi Residency Award/SFFS Screenwriting Fellowship
Letters of Inquiry due by August 4, 2009
Open to both U.S. and international screenwriters, the Djerassi
Residency Award/SFFS Screenwriting Fellowship offers living and studio
accommodations and all meals for one month at the Djerassi Resident
Artists Program from August 10 through September 9, 2010. Residents
work and are housed in two buildings on the ranch according to
artistic discipline and creative project.
The letter of inquiry period for the Djerassi Residency Award/San
Francisco Film Society Screenwriting Fellowship is now open, and
closes August 4, 2009.
Finalists will be invited to submit additional materials August 28,
2009.

The San Francisco Film Society and William R. Hearst III present
The Hearst Screenwriting Grant
Letters of Inquiry due by August 26
This $15,000 grant will be given to a mid-career screenwriter who has
been a practicing writer for at least five years and who has
previously written a minimum of one feature screenplay. The grant is
open to writers residing in the United States whose project expresses
both a unique personal perspective and an artistic approach to the
subject.
The letter of inquiry period for the Hearst Screenwriting Grant opened
July 22 and closes August 26.
Finalists will be invited to submit additional materials September 1,
2009.

San Francisco Film Society and the Kenneth Rainin Foundation present
The SFFS/KRF Filmmaking Grant
Letters of Inquiry due by August 28, 2009
The SFFS/KRF Filmmaking Grants will award over $3 million in the
course of five years to support narrative feature films that through
plot, character, theme or setting significantly explores urgent social
justice issues of our time. Applicants or films submitted for
consideration must have a strong connection to the San Francisco Bay
Area and uplift the Bay Area film community.
The letter of inquiry period for the second $35,000 SFFS/KRF grant for
screenwriting, script development, preproduction and postproduction
opened July 21 and ends August 28, 2009.
