Disney has decide to ditch doing a third in film in the NARNIA series,
and it's no wonder why... THE LION THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE was
good, but the battle scenes were completely bland and unemotional...
plus, kind of savage for a Christian film. PRINCE CASPIAN was even
*less* emotional and more violent... and made much less money. You
would think the producers would have known that you have to
emotionally involve us from the first scene - then never let go.

Another problem was the producers knew it was weak and they made it
anyway. They just fell in love with the idea of making all the books
in Chronicles of Narnia series, in the same order as the books.
The Prince Caspian movie was actually better than the book. The book
was terrible and should have just been skipped, or had any worthwhile
material combined with another story. In the book, everything
exciting "literally" takes place off the screen.
Having said that, I think Disney got antsy a little too quickly.
Prince Caspian is head and shoulders the worst story in the series --
the other ones will probably pick up again. I bet Fox makes a bunch
of money with them. |

The Opening in "Raiders of the lost Ark" is after 20 Years anyway One of the
Strongest. As we see that the Action Hero wants the golden Figure, we care
about it. And then we don't know that the Story is about the Ark, but it
comes silent. We hear it by the Way when Indy's Friend tells him that he
should search it. It's really strong and fascinates me still and I watch it
many times to understand Lucas and Spielberg's Storymaking. As You know
Spielberg had no chance at Filmschool and Lucas broke the Rules there. But
they have both a big feeling for Cinema, just as in "Close Encounter's of
the 3rd Kind" and "Episode 2", for example.
