Granted, that should be obvious, but with a triple boot between 11.0, 11.1,
and 11.3 it's useful to have access to partitions files from any of them.
Not having it forces me to revert back to ext3 or reiserfs for 11.2, and
does not thereby allow testing of ext4.
An update to earlier versions giving ext4 r/w access to them would be
useful. |

Well, 11.1 allready includes ext4 support in its 2.6.27 kernel . However the
driver module is called ext4dev ( dev for development). If you load that
module, you should be able to access ext4 filessystems.
There is also some ext4 support in the sources of the 2.6.25 kernel of 11.0.
But these sources weren't compiled into a module , because there weren't
considered stable enough.
You might compile your own 2.6.25 kernel for 11.0 with that option enabled,
but IMHO is it better to use a newer kernel version.
Don't expect any official kernel version upgrades to a newer version from
SUSE. That is scrict policy, Only bugfixes will go into a released version.
However you might try a inofficial kernel repo like Kernel:/linux-
next/openSUSE_11.0 to get a newer kernel for 11.0, if you don't want to
compile yourself. |

Dingledorf. You need to upgrade the kernel on the older installations.
Perhaps a few other things as well. Maybe your logic deficiencies as
well. |

Somehow that does not seem a very bright policy. |
