I've Moved Completely over to Windows 7........

After beta testing Windows 7, and honestly having my doubts because of the
Vista fiasco, I have moved my production machines completely over to
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

All my hardware works.
All my software works including my DAW software and life is good.
This is professional software like Ivory, Sonar etc.
Not the junk crap ware you basement dwellers are used to running.

After running Windows 7 and then booting into Ubuntu, it's like a huge
letdown.

Ubuntu looks lifeless and flat compared to some of the stunning theme packs
I have downloaded for Windows 7.

You see, the difference between crapola basement-ware Linux and a
professional company like Microsoft is that things are tested and debugged
as well as possible before the release.

Stuff that worked fine with Windows 7 and was hosed with Ubuntu 9.10
include:

Video.
Browsing the network.
Sound (after installing the driver).
MIDI (never got it working in Ubuntu)
And the beauty of Windows 7.

For those that have not looked, the themes (not the default) are
incredible.
All I can say is Linux looks lifeless next to a Windows 7 install.

But the best part is no time spent debugging.
No Googling for Samba fixes, Nvidia fixes, Alsa fixes, Pulse audio fixes
and so forth.

It all just works.........

Windows 7 is like a piece of fine crystal and Linux is like a caved in
Styrofoam cup.

Good bye XP...
Hello Windows 7.

Linux?

You get 30G out of 6TB so I can get a good laugh once in a while.
