(more general ignorance about all things networking)

As a result of a lovely email just received from my ISP about traffic
shaping I'm looking into using Stunnel as a way to encrypt Pan
connections to Usenet and thus change the ports I'm using. I think I've
got the stunnel.conf sorted, but I cant work out how to start stunnel
itself, nor do I understand the references in the documentation to not
running it as either the regular user nor root. Can anyone point me in
the right direction?

If that is not clear, explain waht you tried and what the results where.

Well, thats helped - I managed to find it in /usr/sbin but cant start it
in daemon mode - get a permission denied error from regular user, and,
having read warnings about running it as root I'm reluctant to try that.
A bit more googling before I come back, I think.

http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#intro might be a good
start. ;-)
