OS: Ubuntu 9:10 release

Host: EeePC900 Netbook, use is workshop, WiFi and network testing etc
Hardware:
CPU: Intel Mobile Celeron 900Mhz
Video: Intel on board, 1024x600 lcd
Ram: 1Gb
SSD: 4Gb (fast) 12Gb (slow)
Wifi: inboard Atheros mini pci

Install Medium: 2Gb USB key, with Ubuntu image installed onto it with
Unetbootin, on a Fedora 11 PC (this pc).

First Boot on EeePC in 'live mode':-

Everything worked including:
* Wifi, turns on off via netbook 'wifi' button on keyboard
* Lan, dhcp and static profiles!
* Sound, it played the startup tune on boot
* Video, nice crisp Gnome display

Install to 'hard disk" (ssd).
Everything went well until the 50% mark and it stopped with a "your
install media has a error' error!

I checked the torrent against the MD5SUM, and sure enough it failed to
verify :(

I then dl http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/karmic-desktop-
i386.iso and checked the MD5SUM, and it was correct.

Installed to the USB key with Unetbootin as above, and installed on the
EeePC900, this time to completion.

Ok, what now works, and what doesnt ?

* Audio: WORKS,
* AUDIO: Volume works, soft and hard keys
* WiFi: WORKS (WPA2 Tested)
* WiFI Disable/Enable button: WORKS
* LAN: WORKS, DHCP and various STATIC IP profiles. 802.1x was tested in
the beta and worked, so I have no reason to believe it won't with this
final release.
* Video: WORKS, 1024x600, display is crisp and clear
* Video: Brightness buttons: WORKS
* Video: Auto screen dim: WORKS
* SUSPEND: External power on, hard "Z" key pressed: WORKS (resumes when
spacebar pressed)
* SUSPEND: No external power, lid closed, suspend activated. Open lid,
press spacebar, laptop resumes: WORKS

Standard Apps:
Gimp
OpenOffice
FireFox-3.5
and all the usual high quality apps that come standard on most Linux
distros thesedays.

Package manager: (standard default repo)
Install:
SH, server and client: OK
Wireshark: OK
FWbuilder: OK
EtherAPE: OK
ADOBE FLASH: OK
Iperf: OK
Kismet: OK
Netdiscover: OK
Gvim: OK
Midnight Commander: OK

Final Verdict:root at (no spam) tp-eeepc:/home/tp# uname -a
Linux tp-eeepc 2.6.31-14-generic-pae #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 15:22:42
UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

Perfect on this machine, and as yet, no problems of any kind apart from
the bad torrent of the Ubuntu ISO, and that's not the fault of Ubuntu!

Poor flatty just doesn't have a clue.

It does seem that his mental state has deteriorated a lot the last few
years. I guess that's why his dad left him those run down tenements, he
knew flatfish would never be able to hold a job under his own steam.

Correct seeders should do a MD5 check on their ISO image *before* they
start seeding. Unfortunately some of the good people don't understand
the impact of a non verified ISO.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You comepletely stupid dumbfuck cunt. There are many
torrent seeders who deliberately fuck large files just to chew up your
bandwidth. Me, for example...
