Hallo
Seit einem Update von OpenSuse 11.1 erscheint mir jedes Mal der
Einrichtungsdialog vom Suse Updater. Weiss jemand, wie ich dies
abstellen kann? Ich kann den Dialog bestätigen, doch beim nächsten Mal
kommt er wieder. Er bringt zwar immer die Meldung, dass er
Aktualisierungen sucht, doch er findet nichts, auch wenn mir Suse im
Yast Updates anbietet.

close YaST..
open a terminal, type the first line below and press enter, type in
your root password when asked...you will NOT see what you type..
press enter again and soon you are at a # (root) prompt..
type and enter the next line, then WAIT until all activity has stopped
and you are returned to the command prompt, and then type the next,
wait, repeat
-----commands----------------
su -
rpmdb --rebuilddb
zypper ref
zypper up
-----end commands------------
After that try YaST again.

I've done it and hope, that I don't see the dialog again and that zypper
will find the new updates.

somehow yast has a way of (sometimes) getting out of sync with itself
(or the system, or something---i'm no hacker)..
the mantra above should solve that, but it does nothing to the way
yast works, so it might come again...
keep your fingers crossed..
