Is there any further ppc support whatsoever?
Not planned at this moment as far as I know.
I mean if I simply update what I have, it will at least rise to the
most recent opensuse ppc releases of those packages, right?
You could try, but I have no idea what the latest is.

Well, for the PS3 I think it is 11.1, so it was not all that long ago
that they did include it once the release was gold.
I DO know that the Suse boys are total retards on the PC side , and
here is why...
I just "updated" today to the RC1 (from 11.2.

and all went fine,
except that the SuseTard's idea of "update" includes FUCKING WITH MY BOOT
SETTINGS AND MASTER BOOT RECORD! Which in turn fucked with my Windows 7
installation.
My XOSL boot loader does just a fine job, there is no need for YOU
DOPES to have overlooked this. In an update, you do NOT futz around with
the goddamned boot loader (other than to update it, not the damned
set-up!) or master boot record of a drive!
That is just plain stupid. Thanks for wasting a half hour of my time
getting my boot loader back in place.
