PS3 Slim is locked out of using Linux...

The PS3 "mediaplayer" don't support VCD, so to play you need to install Linux
with one of the many media player programs like mplayer, xine, vlc.

Ah, different problem.

Still, that seems like an awful lot of effort to go through for a VCD if
you ask me. Surely there's a way to stream VCD over the network to your
PS3, rip&convert VCD to a different format the PS3 will support, or even just
buy a DVD player that can play VCDs outright.
