i replied in the thread http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-753782.html
but since it is marked as [solved] i do not expect too much attention
there...
contrary to that thread i do not use neither NVidia card nor any
binary driver but intel driver and also am stuck up with those
annoying freezes after pressing special keys like Alt/Ctrl/Shft. and
also in /var/log/debug the 'smash stack attakcs' are responsible...
unfortunately to me the recompiling xorg-server without SSP has not
helped in my hardened system. i have also recompiled the same way
evdev and intel drivers and xinit as well but with no avail too
i have noticed the problem with these special keys does not occur when
i start x server through the command 'Xorg' instead of 'startx' -
maybe someone have an idea why
further observarions is when this 'Xorg' is run and afterwards
terminated with Alt+Ctrl+Backspace the xserver exits without any
freeze or whatever but the following strange message comes out on the
text console:
error setting MTRR (base = 0xd0000000, size = 0x03000000, type = 1)
Invalid argument (22)
so maybe the problem is located somewhere in the kernel configuration,
what do you think |
