I have bought an HP Pavillion Desktop AMD Phenom 8400 Triple core cpu with 2 320
gig sata drives and 3 gigs ram.
I have partitioned 8 40 gig pieces so I can install several different Linux
versions to test.
The first partition has Slackware 12.1 installed and everything works. The ps2
mouse and the network doing fine.
I installed Mepis, Ubuntu, Sabayon, and SuSe.
when I boot the cd/dvd for these distros I have the correct mouse and the
network runs fine.
Once I install them and reboot, the mouse won't work and I don't get the net
running.
I put my usb mouse in and then that gives me the mouse again but I still can't
get the network to run.
The motherboard has a chip set from nvidia that does what I used to do with
plug-in cards.
I suppose I can live with the mouse but not getting the network to go is what
really makes things bad.
Any hints or help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
