Well I have to admit that I misfired on this one for sure.
I was in CircuitCity today picking out a laptop for my daughter and they
had the Acer LinPus machine there.
I noticed that people seemed to be attracted to this thing like a magnet,
and lord knows I spent a good amount of time in the store as my daughter
couldn't make up her mind what she wanted.
So anyway, I asked the saleslady about the Acer and she told me they can't
keep it in stock!
I asked about returns and she said nothing out of the ordinary, which
surprised me.
Not being one to trust salespeople when she disappeared to check something
out for me, I asked another sales person the same questions and got the
same answers.
Basically, within it's limitations, people LOVE this thing and Linux
presents zero problems for them..
Well shiver me timbers.....
Who would have known....
We ended up with a Gateway for my daughter BTW.
Nice machine, Vista (yuk) all the basics, 4 gig, 250g hd wide screen 14.x
(she didn't want a large unit) etc..Seems very solid for the money.
Much better deal than the Dell's which some of her friends are having
serious problems with.
Alright, fire away....
