"I won't argue about the sound, it does suck indeed, but there is support.
You still have to shop for "Linux friendly" hardware in that specific area,
though. There's an ongoing discussion at phoronix's forums about the state
of things with ALSA and OSS, interesting indeed. Sure enough, sound is one
area which needs more attention in Linux, I won't argue that."
