Has any progress been made to integrate firefox with KDE?
Two behaviors which I really dislike are:
1) firefox isn't desktop aware. The firefox launcher tries to reuse
windows, but if the opened firefox is on another desktop, opening a URL
causes a desktop
switch to where the running firefox window is. I don't want to randomly
switch desktops when I open a url.
I have changed KDE settings to prevent Firefox from stealing focus when
this happens - bit yes, it is annoying.
How have you done it? I nave "--new-window" on the launch icon on my
buttonbar and that works fine, but that switch doesn't seem to work when
I have slrn launch a window or kmail.
Control Center -> Desktop -> Window-Specific Settings
Window class: firefox-bin
Window types: select all of them
Workarounds: Focus stealing prevention: force - none.
OH, wow! Deja vu!
If I launch a URL, it doesn't do me much good if it is hidden on another
desktop. That's worse than the window stealing behavior. At least with
the window stealing behavior, I can move it back to the desktop where I
was working prior. |

It isn't desktop aware in GNOME too. Is there a solution? I hate that too!
