I know libranet is based on debian and that libranet has an
'Adminmenu' tool in the GUI and that from this you can update
packages.
My questions are:
How easy is it to install new packages? Is it just a matter of a few
clicks (almost like Lindows click-n-run) or is there still quite a bit
of work to be done? I'm very much a linux noobie :)
Libranet offer a Classic 2.7 version which is a stripped down version
of whatever one they are selling. Is it possible using this Adminmenu
package installer to get just about everything a typical home user
would need on 2.7?

Less. You can use apt-get install applicationname from a command line
and it gets all you need if the applications is availablein Debian.
In 2.8 you can select single packages with a few clicks, from 2.7 you
get entire groups of applications.

Sure; it get's at least 80% of what the average Joe uses. Don't ask me
what that is.
