I see slack-current is updating to kde-4.3.2 on my local miiror,
wonder if there will be a fairly early 13.1 release? After all,
so many were disappointed with slack-13's Kde-4.2 brokeness.

I liked Slack with KDE 4.x, but I really had no time to evaluate KDE
4.2.4 usability, 'cause I hadn't much time to test it due I had a KDe
4.3.1 running with Slack-current in a HP Pavillion desktop as well.
KDE 4.3.1 had some stupid bug...that seems it all dissapeared at this
new current KDE version...
KDE 4.3.2 seems very stable here... |

I'm not sure I would call it broken. That's just what KDE4 is like. I'm
gonna look at it again around KDE4.5, in the meantime too happy with
Xfce and a number of smaller wm. May actually never go back to KDE now.
YMMV.

Stable maybe, as I've only been using it for a few hours. However, I
noticed right away that I can't change the panel theme from "air" to
anything else, and Kmix just doesn't work because it can't find library
libknotificationitem-1.so.1. It's not in any installed package. Sound
works, but I have to use a "knob" to adjust the volume. OH! the humanity!
Also, where is the "different wallpaper for each desktop I heard this
version was going to reinvent?

LOL!....
They'll keep screwing it up till we all throw up our hands in disgust (slackers,
that is). Try alsamixer from the command line.

Figures. Running -current isn't truly bleeding edge until I install
experimental packages as well. I suppose that I've got nothing to lose as
I've already voided the warranty by running my own kernel.
