Scrub that idea. It would break many sites as a lot tend to have items
spread over a wide variety of servers.

Might work if you are only specific for one application, like banking
software. That should not be too much. And if they are pulling things
from too many servers and sites, then there is an issue with their
security anyway.

They say that where?

I read there what it is, but not that the Milestones or RC1 are actualy
hybrid. It just states that it would be a good idea.

I meant that they were pulling things in from sites they control, but
ones you wouldn't know about until you actually browse their site and
look at just where everything came from. That wouldn't be too bad but
you'd still have the issue of breaking things until you could add the
unknown hosts to /etc/hosts.

I know and I answerd with that in mind. What would be easier is to have
a DNS server running which it uses and then just allow the subdomain.
That would be a lot less (hopefully)

The advantage of that would be avoiding forwrds to things like
https://node05.example.com and the next connection to
https://node16.example.com and so on.

If you want that kind of security, you will need to put some elbow
grease into it. :-/

When are they going to make a PPC (PS3) port again?

No idea. I would say not to hold your breath.

Is there any further ppc support whatsoever?

I mean if I simply update what I have, it will at least rise to the
most recent opensuse ppc releases of those packages, right?

Not planned at this moment as far as I know.

You could try, but I have no idea what the latest is.

Well, for the PS3 I think it is 11.1, so it was not all that long ago
that they did include it once the release was gold.

I DO know that the Suse boys are total retards on the PC side , and
here is why...

I just "updated" today to the RC1 (from 11.2.Cool and all went fine,
except that the SuseTard's idea of "update" includes FUCKING WITH MY BOOT
SETTINGS AND MASTER BOOT RECORD! Which in turn fucked with my Windows 7
installation.

My XOSL boot loader does just a fine job, there is no need for YOU
DOPES to have overlooked this. In an update, you do NOT futz around with
the goddamned boot loader (other than to update it, not the damned
set-up!) or master boot record of a drive!

That is just plain stupid. Thanks for wasting a half hour of my time
getting my boot loader back in place.

I suppose you can still get attacked in live memory though, you think?

Yes, but as long as you do not use anything "executable" (including
macro's in Word etc. file) from the hard disk, the mal-ware will
be erased when you switch of the system, it cannot infect the CD
and the "ramdisk fs" is pure temporary.

The problem, of course, is that mostly you WILL need stuf from
the hard disk, so will have to mount it and then that disk gets
vulnerable again.

Use a pen drive set to be read only for the data.

All well, but does it have as nice a background during boot as mine? I
don't think so.

Just to make sure: Are we talking about boobies here or perhaps gannets?

They are not so easy to tell, after all all they are relatives.

Here are some boobies:

And gannets:
