Hi,

I have been searching around. I don't find a central location to
download any redhat package I may need. I found the following address.
But I'm not sure if it is the correct one. Can somebody let me know
where is the central depository of all redhat packages.

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/mrdocs/

Regards,
Peng

Hi Peng Yu,

https://rhn.redhat.com if you have a support subscription.

Which Red Hat version do you use?

The link you found is for OpenSuSe, a Novell product.

Kind regards,

I think that I have Red Hat Enterprise.

I don't have a subscription on https://rhn.redhat.com

Is there any other free resources. I found the following one. Is it a
good resource for rpm?
http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/index.html

All of the standard packages are included in the CentOS repositories. The
GUI to access them is called yumex. To install yumex do the following,

yum -y install yumex

You should also install yum-fastestmirror which will speed up access to
the packages,

yum -y install yum-fastestmirror

There are additional repositories for CentOS which contain packages not
included in RHEL these are,

EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux)

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/FAQ#How_can_I_install_the_packages_from_the_EPEL_software_repository.3F

rpm -Uvh http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/i386/epel-release-5-3.noarch.rpm

And the karan repos which include a bunch of Fedora packages for CentOS
