In every case, the installed mouse works properly until the
installation completes, and then, when KDE or Gnome loads, the cursor
disappears !
Have tried :
Ubuntu, 3 versions
SUSE, 3 versions
Knoppix, 2 versions
Yast fails to do anything, test always fails no matter what type mouse
I select.
System is a Pentium 4 with 512mb RAM.
I'm at witts end ! Any Ideas ? I'm NOT a Linux expertbut used to use
Redhat 5.2

Selecting the wrong (obsolete) type of mouse could cause the cursor to move
strangely, but if the cursor disappears, that's a video card problem. You
might need to edit xorg.conf to specify a software cursor. |

Bad eyes? Press the control button and watch the screen...
....you could have told us if it is a PS2, USB or serial mouse...

....that shouldn't have the slightest thing to do with mouse failure...

help you, too...

A GNUbie using an eleven year old Linux is the same as never having
used Linux at all. Most everything has changed for the better since
then.
I'm betting that you have a hardware problem. Does it work with your
Windows install?

Ah, yes. Thanks, Beau, and sorry, boo. (that was fun to say!) I plead
a small window made me do it.
