My computer has an ATI Radeon 9200 video adapter in it.
But when I go and do software updates, this S3Virge driver
XOrg X11 s3virge video driver (xorg-x11-drv-s3virge-1.10.2-1.fc10)...
....wants to update. And in the Add/Remove programs it is *not* checked.
How do I make Fedora 10 not include the S3Virge driver in an update?

Why do you care about this? Your system contains many hundreds of drivers
that you aren't currently using. That doesn't mean you shouldn't keep them
updated.

I don't know Fedora but what I understand from the post is that the said
driver is not even installed.

Perhaps it has been added as a dependency to something else?

Under debian, AFAIR, the default seems to be all video drivers.
Can not see any reason for it being a dependency. AFAIK, all distros
used the code and structure from Xorg.

Great advances in Debian Linux; post a bug report and get spam in three
