To follow up, he was attempting to boot the Gentoo 2008.0 livecd,
which lacked support for this hardware.
Blackb|rd (in #gentoo-alpha on Freenode) is creating him a new ISO,
which should remedy the situation.
O-Zone should have replied to his own topic when the problem was
identified and a solution put in place. |

Yes, i've already read that ut is not so useful. Problems seems that
Adaptec SmartRAID V Controller is based under i2o. I've tried with i2o
modules without success, as you can see there:

Yes, i've tried the ISO by Blackbird with i2o support but we don't
resolve the problem. Seems that DPT support for alpha (64bit) is not
available...
