Hi,

I've got an Alphaserver DS20L and I'm looking for some parts for it.
Two in particular.

HP Part numbers:
17-05140-01 - a double connector 50 pin JAE slim CD-ROM cable
17-05142-01 - hard drive installation kit

Anyone know where I can get these without getting a new-one ripped in
me? I'm also open to suggestions for alternative parts.

The HP parts website it terrible and always times out. 3rd Party sites
I come across when I google these part numbers look like they'll fold
as soon as I send them my money. Plus, having to 'get a quote' is a
pain in the ass.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

As a follow up, I've got some pictures of the JAE interface on the
motherboard and a picture of the hard drive assembly from the DS20L
user's manual.

The HP parts site says the two parts are 'unorderable'.

Any ideas?

A website called "ETI Express" has the cable (17-05140-01) but their
price is $20. So with $7.46 shipping I'd be paying almost $30 for a
damn cable. A slim dvd burner costs less.. I'll go without a cd drive.

I can't find the other part anywhere though.

Your picture is bit blurry, can't see for sure but is that MB connector just
Centronics ?
Somehow reminds also about 68pin scsi connector what could make sense, 68pin
cable with 68-50pin adapter.
