I have a legally obtained copy of cpml_ev6-5.2.0-1.alpha.tar.gz from years
ago. A some stage in those years it was mangled and
usr/lib/compaq/cpml-5.2.0/libcpml_ev6.so has zero blocks. I've tried to get
it from HP, but all I can find is the old beta release version. Can someone
point me to the real thing, please?

It looks like it isn't my problem. Your copy of
usr/lib/compaq/cpml-5.2.0/libcpml_ev6.so also has zero blocks, so I suspect
that that's the way it came from compaq. However, I did download
cpml_ev6-5.1.0-36.alpha.rpm from you which appears to have a real
libcpml_ev6.so, for which much thanks.
