Your new one, "Rock On America and Beyond" is an instant classic,
Brian:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6p1A3dPGCb4

"This is the first time this song was played by the band. It starts
off with us feeling the way, and then rocks. Brian Mallard, T.J., Jim
Patrick and the great John Phillips on drums. This is my other anthem,
so, Rock On America And Beyond!" -Brian Mallard

If you keep reposting the same message, people will start thinking of
it as spam; some will get angry, and more will simply ignore it. I'd
advise you to add some news each time you post these links -- you
probably do have something new each time, like the videos Will linked
to -- with your above message appended as a sig.

Also, since you're posting to two poetry groups, please remember: some
of us here want to read words.

I'm hoping Mallard and some others will be showing up today, or
soon... and maybe he'll post some of the lyrics we're discussing,
here.

A nice listen, but I found myself wanting to read the lyrics. Yeah, I
know: when you print the lyrics only, I want to hear the music. I
guess I need both. But, hey, a song is both; that' what distinguishes
it from a poem to my mind.

One thing I noticed -- perhaps I shouldn't generalize from one
example, but -- it looks like you're winning more respect recently
from your audiences. Their being quiet for the song, and their
applause after, souned much improved from, say, last year's live
"Truck Stop Woman" video you posted. (i won't give that link, as it
sounds horrible.)

I actually liked the music for once. But Will's vocals do the music an
extreme injustice.- Hide quoted text -

Maybe I should put subtitles on it... heh.

BTW, I wonder if you're able to get this in Canada, this is the
"official" recording of TSW, from the Shadowville Speedway CD of
earlier this year. I know, like the "Leonard Cohen Radio" site of last
week, you were at one time blocked from getting it up your way:

"Truck Stop Woman" by Dockery & Conley on internet radio:
http://www.wqik.com/new2/artists/i/237770?psid=303942

If you can't get it, there's an earlier mix of the same version on the
MySpace page player linked to, below... curious to see if Canada is
still being censored, though.

Yeah, the "Truck Stop Woman" recording that we recorded in the studio
is a better example of that song, and yes, the crowd on the video you
refer to was pretty wild, or the table right near the stage, was...
the drunk girl was good looking, but she was more interested in
entertaining the folks at her table than she was with what we were
doing on the stage.

not surprised that you would be trying to take advantage of a drunk woman,
Duckery. Of course even in an inebriated state, women are smart enough to
avoid you.
