Montreal will represent Canada in the CONCACAF Champion's league after
drawing Toronto FC 1-1.
Toronto scored first in the 15th minute off a cross and a well-executed
flick-on header. Montreal equalized in the 23rd minute. After that, play
appeared to be 85% confined to the Montreal half and Toronto possession, as
FC knew they had to win in order to qualify, while Montreal were content
with a draw. Toronto appeared to score again close to full time but the
ball was cleared off the goal line by a defender.
All in all, a game Toronto can be proud of despite the unsatisfactory
result. |
