OK, so Rain is going beautifully for her in hand work. And I've been on
three days this week, each better than the last (hey, I even sat on her
with a leg on each side this morning and Michelle took us for a pony
ride). That said, Michelle and I were talking and we both think she is
getting to a point where she really needs someone good and experienced
with dead green horses to take her forward with her under saddle work.
This mare is going to be a great horse, I think, but she is also not
going to give us much latitude for error in her early training and I
don't want to screw her up because I am less bold, or don't have as many
tools in my green horse kit as someone who does this sort of thing for a
living.

I don't care if it is English, Western, or whatever, I want someone who
will find out what bugs her and make her deal with it (which is what
we've been doing with her in hand and driving work, and are now doing
with backing her). I'm in NE PA and could drive her 2-4 hours in any
direction before I would start getting worried about her being too far
away for visiting during training. I am thinking the month of September,
or late August through September, as the time frame. She's to be at
Michelle's in work until then. Michelle would be doing her under saddle
work for me except for that whole 'she's pregnant' thing. :-)

Any ideas??
