I just finished reading the article in Science. I think it reflects

changes in Clades only. The birds themselves have not changed. There
is a basic lack of understanding in the popular press about the
significance of this study. There are finding in it that have been
proposed as long ago as 10 yrs, but there was not hard evidence yet
available. It is none the less very interesting.

And they are all "glorified dinosaurs." BTW, I'm reading a book by
that title.
