Some Japanese carvings today were donated to a thrift shop where I volunteer
and we were curious what price to put on them. Any help would be
appreciated.

You may want to refer to this site. They may have something similar to what
you have.

Carvings?

Looks more like they were made in a mold.
They're newish and worth little.

You're welcome.

Now I'm ready for the rest of the story. I envision a donor
coming in and wanting a charitable donation tax certification
for "a grouping of valuable antique Japanese carvings".

yuk yuk!
i learned today the larger three figures sold quickly at $4 each, and the
two small ones remain (at $3 each). should have priced the larger ones at $8
each. anyway it just shows to go ya, that if something's got real value
because of its age or its craftsmanship, that's one thing -- but there's
also value in things that are simply pretty. thanks to this group for the
input; it was helpful.
