Wednesday's Phillies/Yankees Game 6 is the first Game 6 of the World
Series
since 2003, when the Marlins' series-clinching win over the Yankees
drew a
13.9/25 and 23.2 million viewers.
Since '71, the lowest rated, least-viewed Game 6 of the World Series
was
Giants/Angels in '02 -- which drew an 11.8/21 and 19.2 million
viewers. That
game stands as the only Game 6 over the past 40 years to draw fewer
than 20
million viewers.
Meanwhile, the highest rated, most-viewed Game 6 since '71 was the
Phillies'
series-clincher over the Royals in '80, which drew an astronomical
40.0/60 and
54.9 million viewers.
Wednesday's game marks the first time since 1982 that Game 6 of the
World Series
did not take place on a Saturday night.
