The deadline for performers to apply to play the 2010 Newfoundland
and Labrador Folk Festival is Dec. 18. For more details and an
application see http://www.nlfolk.com . The festival will be held
on the weekend after the first Wednesday in August in Bannerman
Park in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

The 2009 festival was held from Aug. 7--9, 2009.

The main stage lineup was:

Friday evening:
Conal O'Grada (Irish flute player)
Gulliver's Spree (trad Newfoundland band)
The Forgotten Bouzouki (Greek-Newfoundland music)
Don Ross and Brook Miller
Ron Hynes
Matthew and Allan Byrne
The 8-Track Favourites

Friday evening there was heavy rain and wind towards the
front of the main stage so the performance was moved to
the Neil Murray stage tent and was mostly unamplified. It
was a really intimate evening for those who braved the
weather. The weather was fine for Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday afternoon:
The Petty Rogues
The Art Stoyles Band
Crow's Nest Song Circle
The Rosalines
Enoch Kent
Shamrock
The Folk of Labrador

Saturday evening:
Liz Solo (great voice and songwriting, leader of Lizband, has
released a solo CD, http://www.lizsolo.com/ )
The Anchormen
Middle Tickle
The Benoit Family
Garnet Rogers
Andy M. Stewart and Gerry O'Beirne
Bon Debarras (from Quebec)
The Idlers

Sunday afternoon:
The Mountains and The Trees
Allan Ricketts and Glen Collins
Jean Hewson and Christina Smith
Danny Spooner
Joe Belly and The Sin City Ramblers
Jim MacFarland
Ray Walsh Family Band
The Folk of Branch

Sunday evening:
Songwriter's Circle (Sherman Downey, Erin Best, Liz Solo,
Andy M. Stewart and Gerry O'Beirne, and Sherry Ryan)
Erin Best, Jenny Gear, Allison Walsh, Sandy Morris,
Patrick Boyles, and Matt Hender
The Dardanelles (young up-and-coming band)
Sean Keane and Pat Coyne
The Masterless Men (great vocals and instrumentals)
Rawlins Cross (they reel-and-rocked the crowd, on their
reunion tour)
Serena Ryder (solo, but a powerhouse)

The Sunday evening session actually sold out, making up
for the poor turnout on the rainy Friday evening.

When the 2010 lineup is released I'll post it here as well, plus
it will be on http://www.nlfolk.com where there are some
pictures from the 2009 festival now. Once again the deadline
to apply to play the 2010 festival is Dec. 18.
