* ... Just _2 days_ to go!* It's almost time for the this year's
*Mountain Magic Dance Convention *held in *South Lake Tahoe, NV* ...
(featuring West Coast Swing, Hustle and Night Club Two Step). Event
Ticket Registration Form is available on my website as well as much
event information. The Workshop schedule should be posted to the website
very soon. Please see web site for more details and updates.
Mountain Magic is geared for dancers of all levels in a */fun, relaxed
atmosphere./* We are again featuring *2 non-smoking ballrooms*, our
traditional *Welcome Party, Hospitality Suite*, and *free workshops* in
West Coast Swing, Hustle, Night Club 2-Step and more included with your
weekend VIP ticket.
*New for 2009 Schedule - We will be at a */* */*... BEAUTIFUL NEW
LOCATION!*
This year we will be hosting Mountain Magic at Montbleu Resort Casino &
Spa (formerly Caesar's Tahoe) just across the street from our previous
location.We are planning a great program which will again include
classes tailored specifically to the beginning dancer as well as
intermediate and advanced level dancers. We have planned some additional
happenings for our 11th year. This year's event will begin again with a
*Thursday night Early Bird Dance* & Lesson from 8pm-12midnight. We have
also included some *Early Friday Afternoon Workshops* too including the
*Sports Psychology-Application to Dance Workshop* from 1-3pm. We are
introducing a new contest *"West Coast Swing 101" *for the Newcomer
Dancer which will be offered on Thursday evening. We are again offering
....the "*Triple Challenge Open Jack & Jill"*. This category is open to
all dance levels and the contestant must dance all three dances (WCS,
Hustle & NC2). There will also be some fun activities in the evening as
we have done in the past including the*/ "Fun"/ Night Club Two Step Just
Dance* contest. Our *"Special Topic Seminars"* were very well received
last year so we will be presenting some again this year. Don't miss a
special presentation on Saturday evening.You'll have all of these
choices plus plenty of open dancing with our */non-smoking /Two
Ballroom* layout. We will again offer the *Saturday Late Night Breakfast
Buffet *- tickets can be purchased at the MM Registration Desk. Don't
forget to plan to stay over for our *Sunday After Party* that will be
held this year in the *elegant Opal Lounge* beginning at 8pm Sunday
evening after the dinner break.
*Mountain Magic offers a variety of competition categories (and levels)
that include:
Jack & Jill* (west coast swing, hustle, & night club 2)
*Pro/Am Just Dance* (west coast swing, hustle, & night club 2 ... plus
Overall Pro/Am Award)
*Strictly Swing* (you pick your partner, we pick the music)
*Just Hustle* (you pick your partner, we pick the music)
*Open Cabaret *(any dance style with any number of dancers - solo,
couple, group, or team -- including swing routines)
Also *Top Teacher Award* (Male and Female Pros) ... Teachers ask about
the Pro/Am "Teachers Special"
and *Top Student Award* (Male & Female Students).
