We took Amie (age 14) to a schooling dressage & CT near Aiken, SC today. She
and Rebel (age 5) have been schooling 1st level but competing at training
level because Rebel is a very stiff horse whose square QH/Paint conformation
doesn't help. Anyway, after a 2.5 hour trailer ride he got off cranky & was
stiff in warmup, particularly on his bad lead which is the right. They both
gave 100% in the ring though and Amie got her 1st blue ribbon on him.
They got a 65.86% on their Training Level 1 test which was 3rd place out of
8 riders. They got a 66.9% on their Training Level 2 test which was 1st
place out of 6 riders. This despite Amie having a panic attack at forgetting
her TL2 pattern seconds before she was due to enter the ring. Luckily it all
came back to her once she left the salute.
