I have an older single shot Savage Arms Model 72. Cannot find anything about
this model on Savage website. They list a Model 30 that looks identical in
photos and on the parts lists. There was mentioned that Savage has new
owners. Could these two models be the same gun but under a newer model
designation? Everything appears identical.

Checked out some manuals I found probably of some of the older guns showing
the hammer, action, etc. installed with screw bolts while the one I have
uses pins.
