Yeah, the "Truck Stop Woman" recording that we recorded in the studio
is a better example of that song, and yes, the crowd on the video you
refer to was pretty wild, or the table right near the stage, was...
the drunk girl was good looking, but she was more interested in
entertaining the folks at her table than she was with what we were
doing on the stage.
not surprised that you would be trying to take advantage of a drunk
woman,
She was a lot of fun after the show, I have to admit.
You are scum and I hope you are badly injured. |

The song is kind of new to these folks,
Typical Dockery. Instead of owning up to his own faults or admitting that
what he put out was crap, he makes up excuses ("It's new") and walks away.
Wow, Orson... that's about the closest thing you've ever posted here
to a "critique" in all the years I've known you.

A nice listen, but I found myself wanting to read the lyrics. Yeah, I
know: when you print the lyrics only, I want to hear the music. I
guess I need both. But, hey, a song is both; that' what distinguishes
it from a poem to my mind.
One thing I noticed -- perhaps I shouldn't generalize from one
example, but -- it looks like you're winning more respect recently
from your audiences. Their being quiet for the song, and their
applause after, souned much improved from, say, last year's live
"Truck Stop Woman" video you posted. (i won't give that link, as it
sounds horrible.)
yo doc...i can understand the boyz & girlz, but i can't understand a
word yer sayin'...it's a cool tune brother...the flutist is non-stop,
eh?...where’d ya find him at?...maybe you all should do some
blues-"heart"..."keep my love alive”… now that's the shit...
Thanks, man... that's Geno on flute, doubling of keys, as well.

Will, I know I'm the last person should say this but you should strive for
some kind of quality control
so there's only *one* authorised, definitive version of each piece, not half
a dozen takes, where one has a good bridge, another a neat guitar solo,
another has alternative endings yadder yadder

Yes, that's true for an "authorized" version, but these and others
like them are of course live recordings that someone in the audience
happened to record on their camcorder, which I feel have values on
certain levels. But your critique is mainly of the /songwriting/
rather than the performances on the song ("Just bouncing around
between tonic and sub-dominant...") anyway, right? Some top notch
players on the song, just not enough for them to work with?
