The Rose Award goes to Jayson Werth of the Philadelphia Phillies, who
went three-for-four with four RBI and scored three runs in a 10-4 win
over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers came up short for the second year in a row against the
Phillies, who hit four home runs in the game and are the National
League champions for 2009.
Manny Ramirez never did get back on track after his month-long
suspension. He, like the Angels' Vladimir Guerrero, were just a shell
of their former selves this year, no longer feared at the plate. It
could be that Manny feels he put out as much performance-wise as the
Dodgers did money-wise this season. |
