I bought a bag of Penzey's cocoa a couple of years ago, but totally forgot I
had it.
I frequently bake Hershey's Perfectly Chocolae Chocolate Cake with Frosting
because I know so many people who like it.
I baked one this weekend, but discovered before starting that I had run out
of the Hershey's cocoa. Digging a little deeper in the pantry, I found the
Penzey's cocoa. It made a far superior cake and frosting, and I'll be
sticking with it from now on.

Penzey's does! (King Arthur Flour catalog, too, I think.)

Hmmm. I have a couple coupons for free stuff at Penzeys. Maybe I make
a trip tomorrow.
Their new cinnamon blend smells so good!
I love having two Penzeys in the area, even though the closest is
about 20 miles away.
Now if we only had a TJ's. It won't happen, though. Sunflower
and Sprouts markets are really expanding here and that's probably
the closest we'll get. Neither of them sells liquor which TJ's
depends on, and with CO's restrictive alcohol licensing laws,
it's not worth it for them to open here.

Not so sure about that. TJs has stores in MD and they don't sell
liqour there...and they do just fine (TJs). I think PA also has State
Stores where one has to buy any liqour/wine, but I think TJs is there
as well.
We have both Sunflower, Whole Foods here..and TJs does a fine business
in the same town as they are.
It is mostly a warehousing issue, from what I have read...where there
distribution centers are.. I think at one time NM didn't think they
would get any TJs...but somehow they did.

Sounds like a plan!

TJ's carries Penzey's cocoa? I didn't know.
I hope you like the result as much as I do.
Ech! My bad. I've got Trader Joe's on the brain. No, the brand I
bought was Trader Joe's. I'll have to get Penzeys at Penzeys. :-)
I kinda wondered. I haven't tried TJ's brand.

I was reading about that. I must check it out the next time I go to
Penzey.s

We only have one Penzey's in the Phoenix area. In Scottsdale, actually,
which is about a 45 minute drive from where we live.

We have 8 Trader Joe's in the greater Phoenix area. The closest to my
house is 8 miles. The closest to my office is 3 miles. I often buzz over
on my lunch hour instead of driving from home. We also have numerous
Sprouts markets.
