Activity in my backyard is picking up with the colder temperatures and
small snowfalls we've been getting.
Last night, we got another 2" snowfall and today was the busiest out
there in quite some time. Blue Jays went crazy for a peanut bell that I
hung out a few days ago. All that's left is a little chunk that's now
on the deck floor!
I have about 15 Juncos out there every day. White Crowned Sparrows,
White Throated Sparrows, Downy and Hairy woodpeckers, Purple Finches, BC
chickadees, RB nuthatches and today, Chipping sparrows and American Tree
sparrows showed up.
The topper for me today was a flock of Evening Grosbeaks that moved
through. Nothing matches their happy (and LOUD!) chatter. :)
Waiting for the arrival of Pine Grosbeaks.
