The cricinfo.com commentary sums it up - "T&T have won with nine balls to
spare, and in the end it appears to be a convincing win when it actually
wasn't. They were 118 for 5 when Ramdin fell in the 16th over, and they
needed 53 in 28.. They only needed 19 deliveries to knock them off, all
thanks to Pollard who gave Henriques a treatment he'll remember for the rest
of his life."

NSW were winning every aspect of this much ... but then enter the big 6'5"
man from the Caribbean, who singlehandedly (with the help of some ordinary
bowling by Moises Henriques) took the match away from New South Wales. He's
only 23 too, hopefully he'll help bolster the Windies ranks for many years
to come :)

ps. anybody have any idea why Katich chose to let Henriques bowl again after
he'd been smashed for 26 in the previous!?!? I was as bewildered as the
commentators

You'd be wrong.
The WIPQ were obviously effective, but it was slow, dull cricket to watch..

Watching if the batsman's teeth will be broken or his cheek bones will
be crushed was boring? It was anything but boring. Ya the runs didn't
come fast enough but cricket wasn't all that leisurely, really.

One hopes they are back for the good of cricket! Imagine if Ambrose,
Lara and Viv were playing now, the ratings would be thru' the roof!

I don't call that batting, rather cowlashing.

Ask the match-fixing brigade about it...lol.
Watching Pollard I got just a lil nostalgic about the windies of the
80s and the boy who captured the world's imagination for the next
couple of decades or so by his assault on Abdul Qadir. I hope TnT win
the tournament...WI need it!

Where are the match-fixing conspiracy theorists?

Anyway, Pollard's innings gives me hope that the Windies of the 80's
may just see the light of day again...fucking awesome...twas like
Sachin's assault on Qadir to let the world know that it was gonna
witness something extraordinary for the next couple of decades or so.

Pollard can't be 23 - he played in the U-19 world cup in 2007 IIRC...

There wasn't an U19 World Cup in 2007.

Pollard played at the 2006 event.

I suppose it's possible you are confusing him with Kieran Powell, who played
for WI at the U19 World Cup in 2008.

A thousand, thousand apologies for having a different opinion to Your
Magnificent Omnipotence. May I be forced to read a Steve Waugh Tour Diary
if it ever happens again.
