And this is taking it easy.
Very easy. They were obviously not worried about ground
fire.
Wussies.
Yeah. I appreciate those who did, and was glad I didn't.
High five to those who did.
It sure made landings from 1500 feet a lot more exciting!
Yes I'm sure it did. We did a lot of low mountain and river
flying
though. Weird to be banking hard either way and if sitting as
a
door
gunner, to be looking at the trees no more than 75 feet below
you.

But when I look at it. Compared to the Black Hawk and Apache,
the
huey
was about as close to a VW bus as you could get.

they were unsophisticated, easy to maintain, and just plain
tough.
and for what they were, they did there job rather well.

Yup, they were definitely workhorses.

BTW, thanks for the weather report. Got the leaves up and the
fertilizer down. Let it pour!
Leave the leaves. They make good insulation for the upcoming cold
weather. Wink We're still having summer weather down here. I can't
believe it.

Can't do it. I've got the best grass in the 'hood. Leaving the
leaves
on it would kill it. Then I'd have a 'dirt' front yard.

I liked what a neighbor in Tampa did. He spread gravel over his
front
yard, built a little concrete pedestal, and put his lawnmower on
it.

wish I had a picture, but I think the ex-wife got it.- Hide quoted

Since about 5 am to noon we got about 5" of rain. it let up for a
bit
and is pouring now. So hard I can hardly see my car with is about
100
feet from the house.

By tomorrow afternoon I'll have about 150 lbs of acorns off the
ground, the grass cut, and the fertilizer down in back. Then it can
rain like a cow pissin' on a flat rock, and I'll love every minute
of
it.

California could use lots of rain, but I would prefer it waits a week
or
so.
Just got back from kayaking Alamitos Harbor in Long Beach. Got a few
hits
on the swim bait, but no hook ups. Maybe little sand bass. About 75
degrees, and the winds died down as the afternoon progressed. Life is
good.

The weather here is beautiful. I love fall weather, temp in the 70's,
nice breeze. But, we need a way to keep the leaves and acorns in the
damn trees.

Supposed to rain Tuesday where I live. And maybe major storm. And I am
going to Medford, OR Wed. to pick up the new boat trailer.

Good luck. Hope the trailer works out well.

Hope so also. Nice custom Aluminum trailer.

Wow. That's a pretty trailer. Nicer than mine!

Bruce took over Tricker Trailers when they screwed up the business side.
They made great trailers. Started out to get a Galvanized welded trailer
and Bruce made me a deal on an aluminum that I could not turn down. Only
thing different on mine is the Galvanized wheels as I do a lot of saltwater
launches.
